Trunk Road T2 and Cha Kwo Ling Tunnel
The T2 Trunk Road is a key component of Hong Kong’s Strategic Route 6, designed to enhance connectivity between Kowloon and Tseung Kwan O by linking the Central Kowloon Route and the Tseung Kwan O–Lam Tin Tunnel.
This dual two-lane trunk road runs primarily underground and includes a major section beneath the seabed of Kowloon Bay. The project is crucial for alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing the resilience of Hong Kong’s transportation network.
Will Pak Engineering Limited is currently engaged in essential marine works for the project. Our scope includes:
Marine Piling Works: Installation of steel tubular piles to support temporary marine platforms and structures critical to tunnel boring operations.
Seawall Construction: Execution of permanent and temporary seawall sections to form work fronts and protect reclaimed areas during construction.
Diving Operations: Provision of commercial diving services to assist in the underwater inspection, alignment, and positioning of equipment necessary for the safe launch and guidance of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
Through close coordination with the main contractor and strict adherence to marine safety standards, Will Pak Engineering plays a key role in facilitating the safe and efficient progress of the TBM beneath the harbour section of the trunk road.
