hong kong international airport - North Runway Modification Works
Will Pak Engineering is currently completing works on the Hong Kong International Airport middle runway upgrade as part of HKIA’s ambitious Three‑Runway System (3RS) expansion.
The C3310 North Runway Modification project involved extensive reconfiguration of the existing North Runway (now designated as the Centre Runway) and the integration of new taxiways, underground services, ancillary structures, and airfield systems.
Our scope of work includes land formation, marine and seawall works, pavement subgrade works and airport preparation for the runway opening.
Our scope of work includes land formation and reclamation, involving ground improvement, grading, and soil stabilisation to prepare the site for airfield development. We also carried out marine and seawall works, including the construction and reinforcement of coastal protection structures to safeguard the reclaimed area from marine conditions.
In addition, we undertook pavement subgrade works, laying the foundation for new taxiways and airside infrastructure in accordance with stringent aviation standards. As part of the final phase, we supported airport preparation for the runway opening through site clean-up, security set-up, minor rectification works, and coordination with airport stakeholders to ensure readiness for safe and timely runway commissioning in November 2024.
