West New Territories (WENT) Landfill Extension

The WENTX (West New Territories Landfill Extension) project is a major environmental infrastructure initiative designed to expand Hong Kong’s landfill capacity to meet future municipal waste needs. Located in Nim Wan, Tuen Mun, the extension involves extensive site formation, seawall construction, reclamation, leachate management systems, and engineered landfill cells.

The project is led by China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited, under contract with the Environmental Protection Department (EPD), and represents a significant step toward sustainable waste management in Hong Kong.

Will Pak Engineering Limited is proud to support this project through specialised civil and marine works. Our scope includes:

Construction of Water Channels: Formation of engineered drainage channels to manage surface runoff and divert stormwater around the landfill area, ensuring proper environmental protection and site stability.

Reclamation Works: Execution of controlled reclamation activities, including earth filling, shoreline protection, and ground improvement to prepare the site for future landfill cell development and supporting infrastructure.

Our contribution to the WENTX project reflects our expertise in large-scale earthworks and environmental construction, as well as our ability to deliver critical infrastructure in support of Hong Kong’s long-term sustainability goals.
